Results and responsibilities
The ground after the contract.
Different outcomes need different records
Recovered components require acceptance records. Recycled material requires a declared stream and destination. Vegetation requires baseline and follow-up observations. One figure cannot replace all three.
The 2149 company register reports 1,432 distinct town locations with at least one closed rewilding work package. It is a dated company count, not the current world total and not proof that those towns were wholly cleared.
Reserve 9’s unfinished questions
The visible river, mixed vegetation and remaining shells describe the ten-year site. They do not quantify species diversity or guarantee that every seasonal water condition is stable. Continued inspections cover drainage, ground condition and retained structures.
Preserving a wall can carry long-term maintenance costs; removing it can erase useful space and a material record. The project register retains that choice rather than treating “more removal” as automatically more ecological.
